Donation Impacts Community Healthcare
EMS Agency Reaps the Benefits of Local Entrepreneur
PRESS RELEASE: February 28, 2025 Pittsburgh, PA
McCandless Franklin Park Ambulance Authority (MFPAA) was the benefactor of a $20,000
donation by local entrepreneur Jason Wolfe, owner of The Wolfe Companies. (Wolfe.com)
Jason Wolfe stated “Supporting the McCandless Franklin Park EMS department is an investment
in the safety and well-being of our community. These dedicated first responders work tirelessly
to protect us during our most vulnerable moments. It’s an honor to contribute to their mission
and ensure they have the resources needed to continue their lifesaving work.”
“We greatly appreciate the donation by Jason. We will use these funds towards expenses that
align with the high-quality care our patients receive.” said Chief Chris Dell.
For 2024, MFPAA responded to over 9,000 EMS related 9-1-1 calls which averages over 20 calls
per day. Established in 1977, MFPAA proudly services 64 square miles with over 71,000
residents for the communities of McCandless, Franklin Park, Bradford Woods, Pine and
Marshall.
In Pennsylvania and nationwide, EMS has been facing economic struggles with budget shortfalls
as healthcare costs increase. MFPAA only receives reimbursement of 60% on average of
ambulance bills, and 39% of their 9-1-1 responses are non-billable.
As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, MFPAA conducts an annual Subscription and a Capital
Drive. These two fundraisers support the purchase of critical, life-saving equipment. Since the
EMS agency relies upon tax-free donations, the gift by Mr. Wolfe has a direct impact on his
community.
In an effort to improve operations and medical care, in 2024 MFPPA earned national
accreditation via the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services. There are over
18,000 EMS agencies nationwide. MFPAA is one of only 186 EMS agencies to have received
this distinguished recognition.
Mr. Wolfe was encouraged to see his donation benefiting the healthcare of so many people
within his local community. Jason’s decision shows how one kind gesture improves the lives of
others, for those he may never even meet.
